Egg White & Olive Oil Hair Mask

Use it if your hair is dry and damaged.

In a blender add two egg whites along with two tablespoons olive oil (or coconut oil) and blend the two. If you are not a fan of how eggs smell, you can add in a couple of drops of your favorite essential oil and apply the mixture to your scalp and through the length of your hair. Cover it with a shower cap and let it sit for around 40-60 minutes before washing normally and let your hair air-dry. Your hair will feel soft and supple right away! And with regular use, the protein and biotin present in the eggs will make your hair healthier and shinier.

Banana and Oil Hair Mask

Use it if your hair is frizzy and dry.

This is a DIY hair product for those who don’t like how eggs smell. Add one whole ripe banana to a blender. Add in two tablespoons of coconut or olive oil and blend well. Massage the mixture gently to the scalp and through the length of your hair to the tips. Cover with a shower cap and chill for about 30-40 minutes before washing it off. The fatty acids from the banana penetrate deep into your hair nourishing it from the inside out making it smoother to touch and healthier with regular use.

Tip: We recommend sieving the mixture before use to avoid getting any lumps of banana stuck to your hair.

Fenugreek Seeds Hair Mask

Use it if you are experiencing hair fall.

Fenugreek or methi seeds are miracle seeds when it comes to treating a hoard of health issues. Not only are they good for the gut and the skin, but they are also a boon for the mane. Soak a handful of methi seeds in a cup of water overnight and grind to a smooth paste the next day. Apply it to the hair from roots to ends and cover it with a shower cap. Let it sit for an hour while you run errands around the house. Shampoo normally and let your hair air-dry. Trust us your tresses with thank you for it!

Tip: If you forget to soak the methi seeds overnight, you can grind a handful of it into a fine powder, mix it with yogurt, and apply as usual for the same results.

Onion Juice Hair Mask

Use it if you are experiencing extreme hair fall.

Grate one big onion and press it using a strainer and the back of a spoon to extract its juice in a bowl. Transfer it to a clean spray bottle and apply generously to the scalp and the length of your hair. Massage gently and cover with a shower cap. Leave it on for half an hour before washing it off normally with shampoo and cold water. Now, we know onion juice is not the best smelling thing out there! But it works wonders. Onion juice works by increasing the blood supply to the scalp. Not only does it prevent hair fall, but it also stimulates hair growth. Patience and regular use will show visible results.

Tip: While shampoo washes away the odor left behind by the onion juice, adding in a couple of drops of essential oil of your choice helps keep the smell in check.

Aloe Vera Gel Hair Mask

Use it if you have dandruff.

Aloe Vera is the one ingredient that has stood the test of time and has been an important part of the skin and hair care products since forever. And rightly so! Its soothing and moisturizing effect on the skin of the scalp reduces itchiness and flakiness. While its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties eliminate and prevent the occurrence of dandruff. Just extract the gel from a couple of leaves and blend it smooth. Apply it to the entire length of the hair concentrating mainly on the scalp. Coat your hair completely in aloe vera gel and wait for about 30 minutes before washing it off with a mild shampoo. In preventing dandruff, aloe vera gel also helps in reducing the hair fall and greatly improves the texture of the hair, making it soft and manageable.

Yogurt and Tea Tree Hair Mask

Use it if you have dandruff.

Probably the simplest of all the hair masks, yet equally effective. In a bowl add two tablespoons yogurt and 4-5 drops of tea tree oil. Mix well and massage onto the scalp gently. Carefully apply the mixture from roots to tips. Leave it on for about an hour and wash it off using a mild shampoo. Lactic acid present in the curd deeply moisturizes every strand of the hair and the anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties of the tea tree oil help in getting rid of dandruff. Pamper yourself with one of these homemade hair treatments and see your hair transform!
